ECB highlights sparse week for economic reports

NEW YORK, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- The European Central Bank's monthly report due Thursday is among the highlights in a relatively light week of economic reports.

Reports for the week include:

-- Monday: Canada's report on housing starts, which fell from a 187,100 in December to 180,200 in January.

-- Tuesday: The National Federation of Independent Business monthly index of confidence among owners of small businesses is due, as is the U.S. Commerce Department's wholesale inventory report for December

-- Wednesday: Investors expect to see industrial production figures released by Eurostat and the Conference Board's monthly assessment of Britain's leading indicators,

-- Thursday: Besides the monthly ECB report, Statistics Canada's home price index is due. A U.S. trade and manufacturing inventories is expected. The Labor Department releases a weekly unemployment benefit claims report.

-- Friday: The European Commission is set to release its gross domestic product report for the fourth quarter -- the first of three estimates -- and the Federal Reserve's industrial production and capacity utilization report is due.
