MIAMI, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Burger King, the fast-food giant based in Miami, confirmed it is testing a new menu item -- a waffle and chicken sandwich -- at some locations.
Burger King spokeswoman Brooke Scher Mogan did not specify which locations were testing the new sandwiches, CNNMoney reported Saturday.
One Burger King enthusiast, Troy Smith, posted a photograph of the sandwich online, which was picked up by the Web site Foodbeast.
"I love Burger King's regular chicken sandwiches. They're probably the best ones. And I love the regular dish, chicken and waffles," he said.
But Smith, who said he was not affiliated with Burger King, said the new creation "just didn't work well."
"It was missing something -- like the sweetness of the waffle was trying to take the place of the syrup," he said.
Burger King said are were no plans at this point to go national with the chicken inside two waffles sandwich.
