Debbie Sterling, founder and chief executive officer of GoldieBlox, a company that makes a line of construction toys for girls, called the free ad time a "huge win" for girls and message of empowerment her company advocates, KPIX-TV, Oakland, reported.
"This is one of the greatest days in my entire life," Sterling said. "It was such a huge win for girls around the world to introduce them to concepts of engineering, science and math and make it cool."
A teaser for the ad, worth a cool $4 million, shows girls are tossing girly toys into the air.
GoldieBlox began with two employees less than two years ago and has grown to 15 employees and added a second factory in China, KPIX said.
"It's always been my mission to bring this brand to the mainstream, to inspire girls around the world with a really positive role model," Sterling said.
GoldieBlox achieved fame on YouTube for a video spoofing the Beastie Boys' song, "Girls," that went viral at the end of 2013 that prompted legal action. The toymaker said it was working to settle with the group, KPIX said.
While Sunday's ad will be different, the message will be the same, Sterling said.
"Don't underestimate girls," she said.
GoldieBlox bested 15,000 other small businesses from across the United States to win the grand prize.
