NEW YORK, Jan. 23 (UPI) -- Maria Bartiromo, who left CNBC in November, starts at Fox Business News in New York on Feb. 1, Fox News President Roger Ailes announced Wednesday.

The move has been expected since Bartiromo's departure from CNBC, CNN Money reported.

Fox said Bartiromo will have a program on weekdays during the period when the markets are open and a Sunday morning slot. The weekday program will be similar to "Closing Bell," which she anchored from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on CNBC.

"I tapped Maria to report live from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange while at CNBC, and I am delighted to have her join me once again alongside our star lineup at Fox Business," Ailes said in a statement.

CNBC has far higher ratings than Fox Business, which was launched six years ago, while Fox News has outpaced CNN and MSNBC.
