Producer prices slipped in Europe in November

BRUSSELS, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Producer prices in Europe dropped marginally in the eurozone and the European Union October to November, Eurostat said Tuesday.

Prices fell 0.1 percent in both regions after dropping 0.5 percent in both regions in October, the European Commission's data office said.

Producer prices excluding construction and energy costs also dropped 0.1 percent month to month in both regions. Prices for intermediate goods fell by 0.2 percent in the eurozone and 0.1 percent in the EU month to month.

Energy prices held steady in the 18-member eurozone and fell 0.4 percent in the 28-member EU.

Prices received by producers dropped 0.3 percent from November to November in the eurozone and by 0.1 percent in the EU, Eurostat said.
