WASHINGTON, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- U.S. retail giant Walmart is recalling 73,400 card table and chair sets after reports of injuries from the chairs collapsing, regulators said Thursday.

Chairs sold with the five-piece furniture sets can collapse, posing risk of a fall or amputation of a finger, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

The recall involves Mainstay card table sets with black padded metal folding table and four black padded metal folding chairs.

The bottom side of the chairs are labeled "Made by Dongguan Shin Din Metal & Plastics Product Co.,"

which is the name of the company that made the padded cushions.

The chair and table sets were sold at Walmart stores from May 2013 through November 2013 for about $50.

Walmart, headquartered in Bentonville, Ark., has received numerous reports of injuries from collapsing chairs, the regulator said.

Consumers were advised to stop using the chairs and table and return the entire set to Walmart for a refund.

Consumers can call 800-925-6278 for information.
