CAMDEN, N.J., Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Campbell Soup Co., based in Camden, N.J., said Wednesday it is voluntarily recalling 300 cases of Prego Traditional Italian Sauce, citing a risk of spoilage.

The sauce was manufactured at Campbell's Paris, Texas, facility, and was shipped in December to retailer distribution centers in Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico and Oklahoma.

The announcement identified the recalled product as having a "best by" date of June 16, 2015, stamped on its lid, and a time stamp between "CTBJZV-0330" and "CTBJZV-0449."

It asked anyone who purchased the identified product not to eat it but to return it for a refund.

Customers can call Campbell's Soup Co. at 1-866-270-9303 for more information.
