The George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas is selling the ornament, featuring Bush's painting of a cardinal perched on a branch, Politico said.
Bush painted the bird as a gift for Warren Tichenor, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
He said in an online video his wife liked the colors.
"Laura liked the bright red on the cardinal and the green of the foliage and chose my painting, for which I am grateful, for the Christmas card and the ornament," Bush said. "I'm flattered. I hope my painting meets expectations."
The ornament sells for $29.98.
Bush began taking art lessons after he left the White House.
