OTTAWA, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Canada's gross domestic product expanded 0.6 percent in July after sliding 0.5 percent in June, Statistics Canada said Monday.
The data agency said goods production rose 1.2 percent, with gains of 1.1 percent in manufacturing, 1.4 percent in mining, oil and gas extraction and 1.9 percent in construction.

Output at service-oriented businesses rose 0.3 percent, with help from gains of 1.6 percent in wholesale and retail trades and 0.7 percent in finance and insurance.
