Crude oil slides Tuesday

NEW YORK, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Crude oil for October settled near $105 per barrel in New York Tuesday, as equities remained wobbly in Asia and Europe.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, West Texas Intermediate crude shed $1.72 to reach $105.14 per barrel. Reformulated blendstock gasoline lost 0.51 cents to reach $2.9282 per gallon. Home heating oil added 0.84 cents to reach $3.0794 per gallon.

Natural gas shed 1.9 cents to $3.444 per million British thermal units.

At the pump, the national average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline was $3.537, down from Monday's $3.538, the AAA Fuel Gauge report said.
