Harley-Davidson launches eight new models

MILWAUKEE, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- U.S. motorcycle company Harley-Davidson said its 2014 lineup includes eight new models, a record for the company in the same year.

The company, in its 110th year, said it had implemented a new customer-driven product development program, which it dubbed Project Rushmore.

Project Rushmore, said President and Chief Operating Officer Matt Levatich, "is the first project to reap benefits of our product development transformation."

The new models include the Road King, Street Glide, Street Glide Special, Electra Glide Ultra Classic, Ultra Limited, Tri Glide Ultra, CVO Ultra Limited and CVO Road King.

Harley-Davidson said a Reflex Linked Brakes with anti-lock braking is new for all models

Some models get dual halogen lighting, while others use the new Daymaker LED lights, the company said.

The company claimed that "Project Rushmore bikes pass faster, stop quicker and see farther at night, thus inspiring rider confidence"
