Krankycles by Matrix recalled

WASHINGTON, July 26 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of 2,200 Krankcycle by Matrix exercise machines due to a fall hazard.

Importer Johnson Health Tech North America of Cottage Grove, Wis., is recalling the exercise machines with detachable seats, as the seats can detach unexpectedly, posing a fall hazard, the commission said in a notice released Thursday.

The recall involves all Johnny G. Krankcycles by Matrix with detachable seats. The Krankcycles have handles that are turned in a circular motion for cardio exercise.

The Krankcycles are about 57 inches tall, 27 inches wide and 42 inches long. They are black and silver with "KRANKcycle" and "Matrix" printed on the machines.

Consumers were advised to stop using the machines that were imported from Taiwan and sold from January 2008 through January 2012 for $2,200 to $2,700.

Consumers can contact Johnson Health Tech North America to schedule a free repair or seat alteration.

Consumers can call 866-218-3674 for information.
