CHICAGO, May 2 (UPI) -- College graduates with business degrees looking for an advertising job in Phoenix might have a fair chance of finding a job, survey results indicate.

A CareerBuilder survey of 2,000 employers indicated more than half of respondents said they would hire a college graduate this year.

The survey also asked employers about what collage degrees they were seeking in new hires. Respondents indicated graduates with business degrees (31 percent) were the most sought after, followed by computer and information science (24 percent), engineering (17 percent), healthcare and related clinical sciences (10 percent) and engineering technologies (9 percent).

Industries with the largest year-over-year growth for entry-level jobs included advertising, computer software, accounting and finance, hospitality, automotive and sales and marketing, CareerBuilder said.

The city with the most year-over-year growth in entry-level jobs was Phoenix, CareerBuilder said, followed by Minneapolis; Boston; Tampa, Fla.; San Francisco; Denver; Philadelphia; and Orlando, Fla.

In the survey, 27 percent of respondents indicated they were prepared to negotiate on salary, while 22 percent were willing to be flexible on scheduling. Sixteen percent indicated flexibility on academic reimbursement for additional schooling and 14 percent indicated they would be flexible on bonuses.

The survey was conducted by Harris Interactive Feb. 11-March 6 and included responses from 2,184 hiring managers and human resources professionals. The results of the survey carry a margin of error of 2.1 percentage points, CareerBuilder said.
