Subaru to recall 10,137 Foresters

WASHINGTON, April 29 (UPI) -- Subaru of America Inc. will recall 10,137 Forester vehicles with floor mats that could curl when exposed to heat, U.S. regulators said.

The recall involves Foresters made from January through March of this year.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the floor mats have a misfitting backing and could curl. The NHTSA said a curled mat could cause accidents because brake or accelerator pedal interference could result in very high speeds or make it difficult to stop the vehicle.

Subaru said a recall would commence at the end of April.
