10 Royce-Rolls Ghosts recalled

WASHINGTON, April 23 (UPI) -- Rolls-Royce has recalled 10 cars priced at $250,000 due to a labeling error concerning wheel sizes, U.S. regulators said.

The cars, named the Rolls-Royce Ghost, are equipped with 20-inch rims, The Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday. But the label for the 10 cars says the cars have 19-inch rims, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.

"Therefore, the label does not conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 110, 'Tire Selection and Rims,'" the regulatory agency said.

The NHTSA said the 10 owners had been sent new labels with the correct tire sizes. Rolls-Royce, however, complained that the agency had made a mountain out of a mole hill, as the issue did not affect safety.

"The manufacturer is petitioning NHTSA for a determination that this matter is inconsequential to motor vehicle safety," NHTSA said.
