WASHINGTON, April 19 (UPI) -- Import company Gerbings LLC of Stoneville, N.C., is recalling 9,900 jackets with 12-volt heated liners that could overheat, regulators said.

The jackets pose a potential burn hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

The jackets were sold at Harley-Davidson dealerships, Eagle Leather and other sporting goods outlets nationwide from April 2011 through December 2012 for between $200 and $240.

The jackets have black nylon 12-volt heated liners that heat up when plugged into a vehicle -- typically a motorcycle or a snowmobile.

"Gerbings' Heated Clothing" or "Harley Davidson" is printed on the front left chest of the jacket liners.

Consumers were advised to stop using the jacket liners and contact Gerbings for a free repair or a replacement liner.

Consumers can call 877-242-5595 for information.
