
CHICAGO, March 7 (UPI) -- Grains closed mostly higher on the Chicago Board of Trade Thursday with a late rally in wheat futures lending support to corn and soybeans.
Corn was off 3 1/4 to up 3 1/2; soybeans were up 5 to up 19; wheat was up 9 to up 11 3/4 and oats were off 1/2 to up 1/4.
The rally in wheat prices along with a weaker dollar prompted short covering, which pushed corn and soybeans. Weekly sales data beat expectations for wheat, corn and soybeans Thursday.
The prices:
Corn: Mar 7.11 1/2 up 3 1/2; May 6.91 1/4 up 2 3/4; Jly 6.72 1/2 up 3/4; Sep 5.64 off 3 1/4.
Soybeans: Mar 15.03 1/2 up 19; May 14.73 1/2 up 7 1/2; Jly 14.53 3/4 up 5; Aug 14.14 1/2 up 6.
Wheat: Mar 6.86 3/4 up 10 1/2; May 6.95 1/2 up 11 3/4; Jly 6.99 up 10 1/4; Sep 7.06 1/2 up 9.
Oats: Mar 3.95 up 1/4; May 3.84 1/2 up 1/4; Jly 3.78 1/4 off 1/2; Sep 3.69 1/ off 1/2.
