CHICAGO, March 6 (UPI) -- Grains closed mostly lower on the Chicago Board of Trade Wednesday with the dollar index up 0.62 percent to 82.58 on the International Exchange.
Corn was off 9 3/4 to off 24; soybeans were off 12 to up 2; wheat was off 20 to off 22 1/4 and oats were off 2 3/4 to off 5 1/4.
All grains were affected by export sales cancellations on Wednesday, especially corn. Wheat prices were pressured by heavy snowfalls in the plains states that have erased much of the worry of a second consecutive summer drought. Trading in soybeans was choppy with the day ending mixed for soybean futures.
The prices:
Corn: Mar 7.08 off 24; May 6.88 1/2 off 20 1/2; Jly 6.71 3/4 off 14 1/4; Sep 5.67 1/4 off 9 3/4.
Soybeans: Mar 14.84 1/2 off 12; May 14.66 off 1/2; Jly 14.48 3/4 up 1; Aug 14.08 1/2 up 2.
Wheat: Mar 6.76 1/4 off 20; May 6.83 3/4 off 22 1/4; Jly 6.88 3/4 off 20 3/4; Sep 6.97 1/2 off 20 1/4.
Oats: Mar 3.94 3/4 off 2 3/4; May 3.84 1/4 off 4 1/2; Jly 3.78 3/4 off 5; Sep 3.70 off 5 1/4.
