Chicago grains mostly lower Monday

CHICAGO, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- Grains closed mostly lower Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade with the dollar index higher and equities lower on Wall Street.

Corn was off 1 to up 3 1/4; soybeans were off 7 to off 10; wheat was off 13 1/4 to off 15 3/4 and oats were off 9 3/4 to off 12 1/2.

Export inspections at 11.56 million bushes for the week were deemed bearish for corn in Chicago. Wheat traded lower with export inspections shy of expectations at 21.17 million bushels. Soybean futures were under pressure as the harvest in Brazil is proceeding and export inspections at 27.28 million bushels.

The prices:

Corn: Mar 6.93 1/2, up 3 1/4; May 6.85 1/2, up 1 1/4; Jly 6.71 1/2, off 1/4; Sep 5.72, off 1.

Soybeans: Mar 14.51 1/4, off 10; May 14.35 1/4, off 8 1/2; Jly 14.22, off 7; Aug 13.81 1/2, off 8.

Wheat: Mar 6.99 1/4, off 15 3/4; May 7.05 1/4, off 13 1/2; Jly 7.10, off 13 1/2; Sep 7.19 1/4, off 13 1/4.

Oats: Mar 3.77 1/2, off 10 1/2; May 3.72 3/4, off 12 1/2; Jly 3.68 3/4, off 12 1/2; Sep 3.68 1/2 off 9 3/4.
