Cramer folding stools recalled

Feb. 14, 2013 at 12:16 PM   |   Comments

WASHINGTON, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- U.S. regulators announced a voluntary recall of 6,500 Cramer LLC folding step stools due to reports of the stools cracking or breaking.

The problem could result in a fall and possibly an injury, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

The stools were imported from China by Cramer LLC of Kansas City, Mo., and sold nationwide at office supply stores from January 2012 through December 2012 for about $35.

The recall involves Task*It 1-UP folding step stools, which are plastic, but have a 9.5 inch by 14.5 inch top step covered with black rubber treading that includes an asterisk symbol.

Consumers were advised to stop using the stools and contact Cramer for a free replacement.

Consumers can call 800-366-6700 for information.
