CHICAGO, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Corn futures turned lower, but wheat, soybeans and oats made headway on the Chicago Board of Trade Wednesday.

Corn was off 3/4 to off 3 3/4, soybeans were up 2 1/4 to up 4, wheat was up 3 1/2 to up 4 3/4 and oats were up 2 to up 2 1/4.

Corn trading was choppy with old crop contracts headed lower and new crop contracts marginally higher. Traders are expecting planting in 2013 to exceed 2012 due to high prices supported by last year's drought.

Wheat futures rose modestly in Chicago with the dollar index flat on the day. On the International Exchange, the index rose 0.05 percent to 80.09. Soybean prices rose in a corrective trend, as prices have gone lower recently owing to the upcoming annual migration of buyers using South American sources.

The prices:

Corn: Mar 6.95 1/2 off 3/4, May 6.93 1/2 off 2, Jly 6.83 1/4 off 3 3/4, Sep 5.83 1/4 off 1 3/4.

Soybeans: Mar 14.23 up 2 1/4, May 14.13 1/2 up 4, Jly 14.04 3/4 up 3 3/4, Aug 13.69 1/2 up 2 3/4.
