API wants desks cleared of LNG export plans

NEW YORK, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- The price of gold slid Wednesday on the New York Mercantile Exchange with the dollar index flat and equities mixed on Wall Street.
On the Comex listing, gold gave up $6.90 of 0.42 percent to finish at $1,642.70 per troy ounce. Silver lost 25 cents or 0.82 percent to settled at $30.77 an ounce.
Against the dollar, the euro fell to $1.345 from Tuesday's $1.3454. The dollar fell to 93.22 yen from 93.48 yen. The dollar index fell 0.05 percent on the International Exchange.
The British pound fell to $1.5536 from $1.5662. The U.S. dollar fell to 1.0014 Canadian dollars from 1.0023 Canadian.
The dollar was broadly lower in Asia and mixed in Europe Wednesday.
