Grain futures mostly higher

CHICAGO, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Grain futures closed mostly higher Tuesday with the dollar index off 0.22 percent to 79.84 on the International Exchange.

Corn was off 3/4 to up 1, soybeans were up 19 3/4 to up 22 1/2, wheat was off 10 to off 12 and oats were up 3 1/2 to up 4 1/2.

Corn found support from soybeans, which rose sharply on demand expectations. Wheat futures slipped early prompting a day of profit-taking. Soybeans moved higher with a boost from continued dry weather in Argentina, the weaker dollar and bullish export data.

The prices:

Corn: Mar 7.28 1/2 up 1, May 7.30 1/4 up 1, Jly 7.22 1/4 up 3/4, Sep 6.12 3/4 off 3/4.

Soybeans: Mar 14.51 3/4 up 22 1/2, May 14.39 1/4 up 22 1/2, Jly 14.30 3/4 up 20 3/4, Aug 14.04 3/4 up 19 3/4.

Wheat: Mar 7.79 1/4 off 12, May 7.88 1/2 off 11 1/4, Jly 7.93 1/4 off 11 1/4, Sep 8.03 1/2 off 10.

Oats: Mar 3.59 up 3 1/2, May 3.65 up 3 3/4, Jly 3.70 1/2 up 4 1/2, Sep 3.69 3/4 up 4 1/2.
