Grains end the week higher on CBOT

CHICAGO, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Grain futures closed mostly higher Friday, posting gains for the week as the markets recovered further from monthly lows on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Corn was up 2 3/4 to up 4, soybeans were off 1 to up 5 3/4, wheat was up 9 1/4 to up 10, oats were up 1/4 to up 1 1/4.

Soybeans were under pressure most of the day but recovered late to end mostly higher. Wheat was higher on technical buying.

The prices:

Corn: Mar 7.27 1/2 up 3, May 7.29 1/4 up 4, Jly 7.21 1/2 up 4 1/2, Sep 6.13 1/2 up 2 3/4.

Soybeans: Mar 14.29 1/4 off 1, May 14.16 3/4 up 2, Jly 14.10 up 4, Aug 13.85 up 5 1/2.

Wheat: Mar 7.91 1/4 up 10, May 7.99 3/4 up 10, Jly 8.04 1/2 up 9 1/4, Sep 8.13 1/2 up 9 1/4.

Oats: Mar 3.55 1/2, May 3.61 1/4 up 1, Jly 3.66 up 1 1/4, Sep 3.65 1/4 up 1 1/4.
