NEW YORK, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Crude oil prices closed in on $94 Thursday in New York, as traders weighed positive corporate reports against a modest buildup in inventories.

West Texas Intermediate crude oil on the New York Mercantile Exchange added 75 cents to $93.85 per barrel despite Wednesday's Energy Information Administration report that said crude oil stockpiles added 1.3 million barrels in the week to reach 361.3 million.

Gasoline added 0.8 cents to $2.7853 a gallon. Home heating oil gained 0.54 cents to $3.0597 a gallon.

The price of natural gas shed 1 cent in late trading to $3.183 per million British thermal units.

At the pump, AAA reported the national average price for regular unleaded gasoline rose to $3.31 per gallon from Wednesday's $3.304.
