CHICAGO, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- Grain futures were mixed Wednesday on the Chicago Board of Trade with the dollar index up 0.29 percent to 80.55 on the International Exchange.

Corn was up 5 to up 5 1/2, soybeans were off 1 to up 6, wheat was off 5 to off 6 1/2 and oats were up 1 1/2 to up 5 1/4.

Corn prices firmed with no major news, leaving traders to focus on Friday's U.S. Department of Agriculture's production estimate due Friday.
