CHICAGO, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Grain futures were mixed Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade with the dollar index up 0.19 percent to 80.32 on the International Exchange.

Corn was up 2 1/2 to up 4 1/2, soybeans were off 2 to up 3, wheat was off 2 to off 1/2 and oats were off 1/2 to up 1/4.

Corn futures rose slightly as traders shifted positions to match expectations ahead of Friday's supply and demand report. Wheat prices closed off slightly with pressure from the dollar on a day with little influential news. Soybean prices reacted to mixed weather patterns in South America with growing areas of Brazil receiving light rains at the start of the harvest and forecasts in Argentina calling for continued dry weather.
