Crude oil closes at more than $93 a barrel

NEW YORK, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- The price of crude oil picked up 17 cents and settled at $93.09 a barrel Friday on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Gasoline lost 3 cents and closed at $2.76 a gallon.

Home heating oil lost dipped less than a penny to $3.02 a gallon.

The price of natural gas rose 9 cents to $3.29 per million British thermal units.

At the pump, AAA reported the national average price for regular unleaded gasoline rose to $3.295 per gallon from Thursday's $3.292.
