Drug firm settles illegal marketing charges

WASHINGTON, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- The U.S. Justice Department said Thursday that Victory Pharma Inc. of San Diego agreed to pay $11.4 million to settle charges of illegal drug marketing.

The department said the specialty pharmaceutical firm had settled federal, civil and criminal liability connected to alleged illegal marketing of the drugs Naprelan, Xodol, Fexmid and Dolgic.

The firm entered into a deferred prosecution agreement and would pay $1.4 million to settle Anti-Kickback Statute charges and $9.9 million to settle charges under the False Claims Act, the department said.
