GM to recall 231,000 vehicles with fire hazard

NEW YORK, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Gold futures closed higher Friday on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Gold for February delivery was up $3.70 to $1,705.50 per troy ounce. Silver for March delivery was up 2 cents to $33.13 an ounce.
The euro fell to $1.2926 from Thursday's $1.2968. The dollar rose to 82.40 yen from 82.39 yen.
