CHICAGO, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Grain futures closed lower on the Chicago Board of Trade Thursday with the dollar index flat and equities failing to make headway on Wall Street.
Corn was off 4 1/4 to off 4 3/4, soybeans were off 11 3/4 to off 17, wheat was off 2 3/4 to off 4 1/4 and oats were off 2 to off 5.
Corn traded close to even in the early going, but prices remain vulnerable to the overall economic recovery, which is going through a trying stretch.
Wheat prices gave way to bearish sentiment near the close as markets on Wall Street failed to find traction.
In the soybean market, improved weather forecasts in South America put pressure on prices.

Corn: Dec 7.21 1/4 off 4 1/2, Mar 7.25 off 4 1/4, May 7.20 1/4 off 4 3/4, Jly 7.08 3/4 off 4 3/4.
Soybeans: Nov 14.02 off 17, Jan 13.84 off 14 3/4, Mar 13.62 1/4 off 15, May 13.54 1/2 off 11 3/4.
Wheat: Dec 8.45 1/2 off 3 1/4, Mar 8.61 1/4 off 2 3/4, May 8.67 3/4 off 3, Jly 8.54 1/2 off 4 1/4.
Oats: 3.64 1/2 off 3, Mar 3.74 off 2 1/2, May 3.75 1/4 off 2, Jly 3.73 3/4 off 5.
