
CHICAGO, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Grain futures closed higher on the Chicago Board of Trade Wednesday, with the dollar index slightly lower, off 0.19 percent on the International Exchange.
Corn was up 6 to up 7 1/4, soybeans were up 12 1/2 to up 15 1/2, wheat was up 4 to up 8 1/2 and oats were up 3 1/4 to up 4 3/2.
Corn found support from the weaker dollar, which did not move far, but came close to a two-month low. Wheat prices rose in sympathy with soybeans, which came on strong at the end of the session. The soybean market rallied late in the day with supplies considered tight.
Corn: Dec 7.45 1/2 up 7 1/4, Mar 7.44 3/4 up 6 1/2, May 7.39 1/4 up 6 1/2, Jly 7.31 3/4 up 6.
Soybeans: Nov 15.09 1/4 up 15 1/2, Jan 19.08 1/4 up 15 1/2, Mar 14.84 1/4 up 15 1/2, May 14.45 1/2 up 12 1/2.
Wheat: 8.56 1/4 up 8 1/2, Mar 8.68 3/4 up 8 1/2, May 8.71 3/4 up 7 3/4, Jly 8.36 3/4 up 4.
Oats: Dec 3.92 1/2 up 3 1/4, Mar 3.93 3/4 up 4 3/4, May 3.93 1/4 up 3 1/2, Jly 3.92 3/4 up 3 1/2.
