Crude oil turns away from $93

NEW YORK, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- A crude oil price rally lost steam Wednesday, as prices settled back to even on the New York Mercantile Exchange, unchanged at $92.03 per barrel.

West Texas Intermediate crude for November delivery was aiming for $93 per barrel early, but confidence did not hold and prices retreated.

Natural gas prices gained 0.26 cents to $3.476 per million British thermal units. Home heating oil added 1 cent to $3.195 per gallon. Reformulated blendstock gasoline dropped 0.058 cents to $2.7783 per gallon.

At the pump, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $3.756 per gallon, down from Tuesday's $3.773, AAA reported.
