
CHICAGO, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Grain futures closed mixed in Chicago Wednesday with the dollar index up 0.24 percent on the International Exchange.
Corn was off 1 1/2 to off 2 1/4, soybeans were off 1 to up 2 3/4, wheat was unchanged to up 2 3/4 and oats were up 1 1/4 to up 3.
Corn prices were little changed with late buying -- a spillover from soybeans -- providing some support. Wheat futures also followed a late upswing in the soybean pit. Soybean prices closed mixed with the U.S. Department of Agriculture estimating production for the season at 2.63 billion bushels, which was lower than expected.

Corn: Dec 7.56 3/4 off 1 1/2, Mar 7.57 1/2 off 2 1/4, May 7.53 off 2, Jly 7.46 off 1 1/2.
Soybeans: Nov 15.31 3/4 up 1 1/4, Jan 15.32 1/4 off 1, Mar 15.01 1/2 off 1/4, May 14.64 1/4 up 2 3/4.
Wheat: Dec. 8.73 up 1 1/2, Mar 8.84 up 1, May 8.84 1/2 unchanged, Jly 8.51 1/2 up 2 3/4.
Oats: Dec 3.63 1/4 up 3, Mar 3.68 up 2, May 3.68 1/2 up 1 1/4, Jly 3.66 3/4 up 1 1/4.
