
WASHINGTON, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Augusta, Ga., firm Club Car LLC is recalling 4,000 utility vehicles and golf carts due to fuel leaks that pose a fire hazard, federal regulators said.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission said the company has received 10 reports of fuel tank leaks involving the filler necks that can crack.
The company is recalling the following models: The Cafe Express AF, Carryall/Turf 1 FG, HG, Carryall/Turf 2 EG, PG, RG, Carryall/Turf 6 JU, JV, NG, Carryall 232 Gas XL, Carryall/Turf 252 XG, ZG, Carryall 295/XRT 1550 CL, CM, RF, RJ, RY, TR, TT, Carryall 295 SE/XRT 1550 SE CC, DS Gas Golf Car AG, Precedent Gas CR, PR, PT, PY, 1E, 1G, 1X, Precedent 4 Pass Gas PF, PW, Transporter 4 JT, Transporter 6 JQ, Villager 4 Gas TG, Villager 6 KG, Villager 8 MG, XRT 800 Gas HJ, XJ, XRT 900 AE, and XRT 950 CT, CU, CV, KR, KS, KT, KY.
Various serial numbers also apply to the recall.
The vehicles were sold through dealerships nationwide from April 2012 through June 2012 for $5,500-$17,700.
Consumers were advised to stop using the vehicles and contact the company for a free replacement fuel tank.
