WASHINGTON, July 27 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of 5,600 Kolcraft strollers due to fall and choking hazards.
The regulator said the Contours Options LT Tandem Strollers imported from China by Kolcraft Enterprises Inc. of Chicago, Ill., have front wheel assemblies that can break, creating a possible fall hazard for the child in the stroller.
The strollers also have baskets supported by nuts that can detach, creating a choking hazard, the commission said in a statement.
The recall involves Contours Options LT tandem strollers with model number ZT012. They were sold nationwide and online from February 2012 through July 2012 for about $250.
Consumers were advised to stop using the strollers and contact the company for free replacement wheels.
Consumers can call 800-453-7673 for information.
