NEW YORK, July 13 (UPI) -- Gold futures posted gains Friday as the U.S. dollar declined, analysts said.
Gold for August delivery was up $26.70, or 1.7 percent, to $1,592 an ounce Friday on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.
The International Exchange Dollar index was down .31 percent to 83.366.
September silver futures rose 21 cents, or 0.8 percent to $27.37 an ounce.
The euro fell rose to $1.22.49 after falling below $1.22 for a time on Thursday. Against the yen, the dollar was 79.20 yen.
The British pound was $1.5575 from $1.5574.
