GM to recall 231,000 vehicles with fire hazard

NEW YORK, June 15 (UPI) -- Gold prices closed higher on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange Thursday, adding $9.20 and settling at $1,628.80 per troy ounce.
Silver gained 28 cents to close at $28.69 per troy ounce.
The dollar was mixed across Europe and Asia with the dollar index off 0.35 percent to 81.59 on the International Exchange.
The euro rose to $1.2664 from Thursday's $1.2633. Against the yen, the dollar fell to 78.72 yen from Thursday's 79.35 yen.
The British pound was $1.5716 from $1.5715. The dollar was trading at 1.0225 Canadian dollars from 1.0218 Canadian.
