Beef recall announced over E. coli fears


NEW YORK, June 5 (UPI) -- Oil prices hovered near $84 per barrel in New York Tuesday as the dollar index rebounded from Monday's slide, climbing 0.25 percent to 82.77.
On the New York Mercantile Exchange, West Texas Intermediate crude oil for July delivery shed 28 cents to $84.01 per barrel. Natural gas for July delivery lost 1.1 cents to $2.435 per million British thermal units.
Home heating oil lost 0.59 cents to $2.6277 per gallon.
RBOB gasoline futures for July delivery gave up 0.97 cents to $2.675 per gallon.
At the pump, the national average price of unleaded gasoline dropped to $3.57 per gallon from Monday's $3.585, AAA said.
