
CHICAGO, May 23 (UPI) -- Grain futures were mixed at the close Wednesday on the Chicago Board of Trade, with corn futures pressured by strong gains in the U.S. dollar index.
Corn was up 1/2 to up 6 1/2, soybeans were down 18 1/2 to down 24 1/2, wheat was down 2 to down 17 3/4, oats were down 3 3/6 to down 9.
Soybeans were hit by rumors that China may cancel some soybean deliveries. Wheat was lower on the higher dollar and ideas the recent rally was too aggressive.
The prices:
Corn: Jly 6.03 1/2 up 6 1/2, Sep 5.29 up 3, Dec 5.23 up 1, Mar 5.34 1/2 up 1 1/2.
Soybeans: Jly 13.62 1/2 down 19 3/6, Aug 13.42 1/2 down 22 1/4, Sep 12.95 down 19 3/4, Nov 12.573/6 off 24 1/2.
Wheat: Jly 6.65 1/2 down 2, Sep 6.79 3/4 down 17 3/4, Dec 7.00 1/2 down 1 3/4, Mar 7.15 1/2 down 15.
Oats: Jly 3.25 down 8 1/2, Sep 3.29 down 9, Dec 3.35 1/2 down 8, Mar 3.43 1/2 down 7.
