NEW YORK, May 8 (UPI) -- The price of crude oil in New York added 31 cents to reach $97.32 per barrel Tuesday, with gains checked by concerns over debt issues in Europe.

Natural gas added 4.6 cents to $2.439 per million British thermal units.

Home heating oil gained 0.83 cents to $2.9984 per gallon.

Reformulated blendstock climbed 2.35 cents to $3.0179 per gallon.

At the pump, the national average price of unleaded gasoline dropped from Monday's $3.777 per gallon to $3.763, AAA said.
