NEW YORK, April 26 (UPI) -- Crude oil prices settled above $104 per barrel Thursday as the dollar was dormant and equities rose.

News affecting commodities is mixed. The Commerce Department Wednesday said U.S. durable goods orders fell more than expected. Late Wednesday, the Energy Information Administration reported a U.S. inventory buildup of 4 million barrels in the week ending April 20 to 373 million barrels -- the fifth consecutive week of increased supplies.

West Texas Intermediate crude for June delivery wavered before settling at $104.55 on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Home heating oil prices added 3.33 cents to $3.1944 per gallon. Reformulated blendstock gasoline added 2.76 cents to $3.1833 per gallon.

Natural gas prices lost 4.4 cents to $2.126 per million British thermal units.

At the pump, the national average price of unleaded gasoline dropped a penny to $3.83 per gallon Thursday from Wednesday's $3.84, AAA said.
