NEW YORK, April 25 (UPI) -- Gold prices made marginal gains Wednesday for the sixth consecutive trading day, as the dollar index fell slightly, off 0.15 percent.
Gold added $1.20 on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange to reach $1,645 per troy ounce.

Silver gave up 7 cents to reach $30.74 on the exchange.
The dollar index hit 79.04 in the International Exchange, as the euro rose to $1.3217 from Tuesday's $1.3197, while the British pound rose to $1.6164 from $1.6145.
Against the Japanese yen, the dollar rose to 81.34 yen from 81.12 yen. The dollar was at 7.7598 Hong Kong dollars from 7.7594.
