U.S. markets recover from steep losses

WASHINGTON, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- The U.S. Air Force said it was looking for a few good iPads -- up to 18,000 of them, to be exact.
In a public notice of business opportunities, the Air Force said it was looking for iPad 2, but would accept other brands if they could cut the mustard.
The mission: To replace flight bags that weigh up to 40 pounds apiece. These are kits that include manuals, navigation charts, and other valuable information, the Los Angeles Times reported Saturday.
Government agencies have been leaning toward Apple products lately, the Times said. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said its employees would be receiving iPhones instead of BlackBerry smart phones.
