U.S. markets recover from steep losses

CHICAGO, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Grains futures on the Chicago Board of Trade closed mostly lower Thursday, although the dollar index was flat, closing down 0.09 percent to 78.62.
Corn was off 3 3/4 to off 6 1/2, soybeans were off 4, wheat was off 8 to off 14 3/4 and oats were off 4 to up 1/4.
The prices:
Corn: Mar 6.37 off 5 1/2, May 6.41 1/2 off 6 1/2, Jly 6.45 3/4 off 6 1/2, Sep 5.93 off 3 3/4.
Soybeans: Mar 12.27 1/2, May 12.36, Jly 12.45 3/4 , Aug 12.44 -- all off 4.
Wheat: Mar 6.46 off 14 3/4, May 6.55 1/4 off 13 1/4, Jly 6.68 off 11, Sep 6.85 3/4 off 8.
Oats: Mar 3.18 off 10, May 3.09 1/2 off 3 1/2, Jly 3.06 3/4 off 4 1/4, Sep 3.09 1/2 off 1 1/2.
