TROLLHATTAN, Sweden, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Chinese company Beijing Automotive Investment BAIC said it is interested in bidding on bankrupt Swedish automaker Saab.
"Yes, we are considering it, but it's also a rather complicated business," said company Vice President Mao Hai, The Local reported Saturday.
Saab, which has shut down production, is already entertaining a bid from Chinese company Youngman reportedly worth between $327 million and $475 million.
Court receivers Anne-Marie Pouteaux and Hans Bergqvist would not comment.
"As we have previously made clear, we will not comment on details of individual stakeholders or bids during the sale process," they said.
Meanwhile, Hai said Beijing Automotive Investment BAIC is considering a joint deal with Panasonic to produce electric cars, The Local said.
