FALLS CHURCH, Va., Dec. 11 (UPI) -- A global survey of businesses found that a desire to connect employees through multiple devices is a top factor for them to adopt cloud computing technology.
Thirty-three percent of the 3,645 information technology decision makers polled said accessibility to information through multiple device for employees is why they adopted cloud technology, a CSC news release reported.
Other reasons for adopting the cloud were accelerating the speed of business, the choice of 21 percent of respondents, and cutting costs, which was most important to17 percent of those polled.
Most companies -- 82 percent of those surveyed -- reported their organizations saved money after getting a cloud network, but savings were small.
Nearly all companies -- 93 percent -- said they saw improvement in IT performance after adopting a cloud, with 80 percent saying they experienced improvements within six months.
CSC polled small-, medium- and large-sized, public and private companies in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Brazil, Australia, Japan and Singapore. The survey was conducted between October 2011 and November 2011.
