REDMOND, Wash., Dec. 6 (UPI) -- An online posting from U.S. technology giant Microsoft said upgrades for the game platform Xbox were taking longer than expected.
"The timing for Xbox 360 dashboard update has been slightly delayed. I'll have a status update later today" wrote Larry Hyrb, a member of Microsoft's marketing team.
Cnet reported Tuesday the posting came a day after Microsoft announced "an all-new Xbox 360 experience," which included the addition of access to ESPN, Hulu Plus, Lovefilm (available in Britain), Netflix and Telefonica (available in Spain).
Other content providers are expected to be available soon, including Rogers OnDemandLive, YouTube and HBO Go.
In time, 40 or more content providers are expected to be on Microsoft's roster, Cnet said.
