WASHINGTON, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- General Motors Co. is recalling 674 Cadillac CTS cars with potentially faulty assembly of a brake boost push rod, U.S. regulators said.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said GM will inspect the 2012 model year Cadillac CTS vehicles made from Oct. 21 through Oct. 26.

Nuts holding the power vacuum brake boost push rods may not be torqued to the proper specifications, the NHTSA said. This could cause the nut to loosen and allow the brake boost push rod and the brake pedal to separate.

GM will service the vehicles for free, the NHTSA said.

Consumers can call 800-458-8006 for information.
