WASHINGTON, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Hudson, Ohio, company Little Tikes is expanding a recall of toy workshop and tool sets that pose a choking hazard to children, a federal watchdog agency said.

The recall includes 1.7 million toys and follows a recall in August 2009 that involved 1.6 million toys, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

The toy sets have over-sized plastic toy nails that pose a choking threat, the commission said.

The recall involves toy nails sold as part of toy workshops for young children. The 11 different workshop sets that include the recalled nails are the Workshop, Deluxe Workshop, Carry Along Workshop, Rew 'n Roar Mechanics Workshop, Carry Along Tool Caddy, Home Center Workshop, Workbench, Little Tikes Workshop, Kohl's Workshop Tool Set, Menard's Home Center Workshop and Action Power Workshop.

The toy sets were sold from 1990 through 2004 for between $25 and $100.

Consumers were advised to take the plastic nails that come with the sets away from children. Consumers can contact the company for free replacement toy nails.

Consumers can call 800-321-0183 for information.
